Customer Rating Straight forward LED TV, 2011-09-02

I don’t need TV internet apps because I connect this unit straight to my desktop PC. I do photo and video editing so, since this TV is connected in my desktop PC, this will serve as my 42 inch monitor in my living room. Images of the photos are clear and precise, and much more..

    – Image quality on playing DVD movies is Excellent.
    – Image quality on playing Blu-ray movies is Superb.
    – Shadows and dark spots of the screen is very well balanced.
    – Sleek design and Price
    – Awesome PC monitor 😉
    – If you want a basic LED TV with excellent visuals and performance.. no need to look any further.
    – Very Happy with my purchase

    – None
    – Lack of Internet Apps (for some)

I love this tv!! This is the first flat screen I’ve purchased for myself, but the second I’ve had purchasing decisions on. And I love my second decision!! The viewing quality is amazing!! The color contrast is very defined and pops out so much! Have you every seen a tv that you think is too realistic? Well I started to gripe about that. Yes I know it’s nothing to be complaining about, but I guess I got used to watching is ‘television format’ rather than ‘in person format’. The visuals are so life like. There are no problems in seeing the deep blacks at all!! I got exactly what I was hoping for and more!! I love this choice!!

I plan to add more to this review later on, but this TV is legit. Netflix (streamed from a roku) looks crazy good even only at 720p (Netflix only streams 720p on roku), Haven’t watched a Blu-ray yet, but I suspect I’m going to need to change underpants after.

Okay, rented a blu-ray (and borrowed my sisters player) Blu-Ray was way too smooth and detailed. so I turned the smoothing down to low to give it a more cinematic feel. Looked great.

As requested I tried out the Picture In Picture and it works great. You can have a small window on top of your main window and move it to the sides, top, bottom, middle, and switch which screen’s audio is the focus of the TV, or plop them both up side by side sharing equal screen space.

Also, as a side note, the channel scan was the fastest channel scan I’ve ever seen and captured ALL of the channels that I get from my HD antenna. Regular TV looks better than DVD quality did 10 years ago. I’d say even better than unconverted 1080i on my 60Hz 1080 screen from last week.

This TV rocks. I am not a super-tech savvy person, but this TV does not disappoint. Clear picture with cable TV, awesome when tuned in to HD programming. No Blu-Ray time yet, sorry. If I may be so bold, this TV is sexy…it has nice, clean lines, and would really add some merit to the run-of-the-mill bachelor pad. Then again, if you’re a bachelor and you’re reading this, maybe you should invest in a haircut and some cologne. Just sayin’

Customer Rating Great Bang for the Buck, 2011-09-19
This review is from: VIZIO M421NV 42-Inch
When I purchased this TV, I really only wanted a thin 1080p TV. What I got was exactly that, and with a great price. Eventually this TV will go above my fireplace, flush with the wall… I hope to get around to a review of clarity once I get up there.

However it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, there is noticeable motion blur/distortion … usually watching SD shows.

Also, using regular AV cables, will scale the screen very small, yes I know it can be scaled up, by zoom and aspect ratio… it’s just an inconvenience.

Overall I’d HIGHLY recommend this TV to anyone, for price, value and clarity of HD. The TV shows definitely have a different ‘look’ to them.
