Internet Ready TV
With the rise of Internet Ready TVs, these units are now going to be a staple in every home and that’s why knowing the new technologies for 2012 will be of interest.

So far the manufacturers have now added so much to their products that nowadays just about all monitors and screens are Internet Ready TVs. They just require a CatV hookup and a modem. As technologies increase more goodies are added along the way. When you have LED, LCD, Plasma, and Projection TVs you have to have them internet ready as they’re the most in demand screens and the public is hot after screens that allow for accessing internet venues so that movies and TV shows can be streamed. Not only that but with so many online games the public can’t do without web access and internet TV. To accommodate the demand manufacturers are packing as many new gadgets and accessories and advances as they can get.

Internet Ready TV Trends

Figure 1 : Internet Ready TV Trends

Not only are the set manufacturers going all out but the entertainment and software companies are joining in to provide as much content as possible. You’ve got Wii Browser, Apple TV, Microsoft Media Center, Sony’s Bravia HDTV Internet Link TV, Media Smart TV, RSS feeds, Sony has it’s own Internet Ready TV. In addition such content from Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and other online video streaming companies are of such demand that Internet Ready TVs are mandatory.

Manufacturers need to be ready for the processing and graphics and more. Game controllers and other devices need to work in tandem with Internet Ready TVs so that compatibility won’t be a problem. It’s estimated that over 100 million sets will be sold and ready for use during 2012 that will be almost 50% of all TVs sold during that year. That right there says how important the systems are and will be. That number is expected to rise remarkably as some people will be on either side of the fence to the point that interactivity won’t occur for those without the internet ready option.

Those waiting for Apple will find the company all over the market by the end of 2012 or so they say and that will open even more doors for more participants with games and other Apple related issues and the surge in sales for the industries will be enormous.

Add to all that the major manufacturers like Sony, Samsung, Toshiba and more are partnering with online sites like Facebook and Google they’ll also be advancing their HDTV technologies and 3D capabilities. These advances also call for bigger screens with card slots for SD and other peripherals.

Access to the web won’t be limited to previous venues as websites know that if they’re not accessible they’ll be missing out on a major advance in entertainment and revenue.

This all being said, having an Internet Ready TV is going to be a must instead of an option. The future of social networking, streaming movies and television as well as the massive online gaming industry calls for these devices and as multiple industries get together to keep up and one up the other you’ll see competition the likes of which we’ve never seen before in entertainment. The key thing to watch for are the technological changes as they should afford better energy savings and ease of use of the devices and services.
