Easy to set up, get an hdtv antennae and you are cable and monthly cost free! Sure I don’t get as many stations, but watch other stuff online on my computer. Great quality for a low price! The directions for installing the base were a bit confusing, as they had more than one model on it and didn’t specify which one was for this Brava. But being sort of techie I figured it out, and it’s playing right now. Nice sound too! Great tv size for my small studio!

This is our first LCD tv and we are blown away with how great this tv is! The picture is great, the colors are superb and the sound is excellent. Setup was a breeze which we appreciated as we are newbies to this type tv. We also love the fact that it is so light and so easy to move around. We would happily recommend this tv to one and all.

  • Customer Rating Sony – Simply The Best, 2011-06-17
This review is from: Sony BRAVIA KDL32BX420
The SONY KBL32BX450 with high definition 1080p is an entry level model with outstanding picture quality. This is a highly recommended HDTV for you.

I had researched purchasing HDTV for the bedroom and the SONY is better than the rest (LG, SAMSUNG, PANASONIC and budget models). You pay more for the SONY but you getting a SONY. It is worth the difference. Do not compromise.

This is a new 2011 model with basic features. There is no Wifi, this is 60Hz and is not an LED TV (however picture quality compares to LED sets). There are only two HDMI ports that may not be enough for some people. The only “complaint” is the sound quality. You will need to adjust the bass/treble and use the equalizer in Custom Mode. It is the same issue that flat screen sets just don’t have great speakers. Regardless, this is an excellent television.

There are enough settings with options to calibrate and customize the picture to your liking. It is best to disable the ambient light sensor that restricts the brightness and vivid contrast of the picture. Once calibrated, the picture is awesome. The fleshtones are realistic. There is abundant contrast with the blacks are coal black and whites are bright white. The colors are vivid and vibrant. The set will require picture adjustment and calibration out of the box. Motion blur is almost non-existant for a 60Hz set.

The features and specs of this set are well documented. You have a USB port to view pictures and videos.

If you are very budget conscience then consider the SONY 720p model KDL32BX320. This is also a great set but you don’t pay for the Full HD. If you won’t do gaming or watch BluRay then this may be for you. If you are looking to install in your living room then look for a SONY with a larger screen.

I purchased this from a store with special grand opening sale but wanted to post review for Amazon folks. I would typically buy from Amazon.

first impression is very positive.the tv has nice black levels which lead to high contrast, colors are accurate and sound is acceptable.this is an entry level 1080p tv, so not many bells and whistles-usb port-not as useful as samsungs and lg’s,will only play flash or portable hard drive formatted in fat32-very limited format-codecs support is almost nill.why does sony have to make these features so limited when the competition is much advanced(samsung, lg).first tv had quality control issues with display-half the screen was nice and white while other half was a dirty white.you could also see specs of dust throughout the screen(in the screen, not on)returned for exchange.second tv had backlight bleed which was unacceptable waiting for replacement.kudos to amazon-best web retailer period-gave me $75.00 credit for the hassles with tv.mind you this tv has quite impresive picture, hd is flawless colors nice and saturated not overkill again black levels nice and deep most likely better than more expensive models.sony and samsung use same s-pva panels but i don’t think sony plays the panel lottery-positive thing-so you will always get quality panel.light bleed and dirty panel is assembly issue not panel quality.highy recommended if you get one with no issues

    Customer Rating Very impressed, 2011-09-29

This is the first Sony TV that I’ve owned, and I’m extremely impressed. Set-up was a snap, and I don’t think I had to make any significant changes to the default settings to get the picture I wanted (I think I may have tweaked a setting or two maybe 2 or 3 notches, but that’s it. Both of my previous HDTV’s (both 720p) had at-best decent sound. This Sony actually has very good sound, which surprised me considering how light the thing is.My primary use for this TV would be gaming through a PS3, watching BD/DVD movies and streaming Netflix. I only have a PS3 (no other game systems at the moment, and I don’t ever plan to have cable or satellite) so the “lack of” HDMI ports that some people complain about isn’t an issue for me at all, though if you have multiple devices, I can understand how you’d feel about this! Here are some of my observations/opinions:*Final Fantasy XIII looks amazing in 1080p! The game really shows off what this TV (and the PS3) are capable of.
*My Battlestar Galactica BD’s, which tends to have pretty dark pictures look great! The black-levels are very sharp, especially for a LCD screen!
*I find that many TV’s have menus that are annoying to navigate. This one has a very friendly menu system.
*Some people complain that the remote buttons don’t glow. I don’t see this as a problem… The paint used to label the buttons is very reflective, and I have little or no problem reading them in low-light settings.Ultimately, if you don’t have a lot of space, and want a nice HDTV as a main TV, or one for your gaming systems, I highly recommend this one!

Customer Rating Good picture but poor tuner, 2011-05-03
This review is from: Sony BRAVIA KDL32BX420
I bought this TV for a primary TV in my camper.
The setup was easy and the TV worked very well except for one thing. I do have to rely on over the air signals and even with a good digital antenna and a signal booster, this TV would not receive signals the other digital TV in the bedroom was picking up OK. In fact when I turned on this Sony, the other TV lost the signals for some stations. So I even tried removing the splitter from the antenna line and hooked the Sony up directly. The Sony still could not find the signal.

So I called the Sony help line and after telling them what I had done, they agreed this TV does not have a very good tuner. And they could not point me to any of their other TV’s that had a good tuner for over the air broadcasts. And I just don’t understand that because making TV tuners is not exactly rocket science. It must be just cost cutting because most people do not have to rely on the tuner.

So if you need to receive over the air signals, this may not be the TV for you.

Other than that, it’s got an excellent picture when the signal is not breaking up into pixels.
