I purchased this TV for my downstairs man-cave. I have an Xbox 360, and a Wii hooked up to it, along with a surround sound and a satellite receiver. Picture quality is excellent. What can I say it’s great and at a great price also.

Customer Rating A Great TV, 2011-05-23
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
This tv is great. Picture in HD is amazing. gave 4 stars because picture quality in Standard Definition isn’t as great. it more blurry. Its just a minor setback. Sound quality is good. Sort of sounds like your typical computer speakers. I do like the interface. You can easily set it up to your liking.
I did have a problem getting it to connect to my PS3. it would get sound, but no video. It took some time to get picture on my AV cords. If on a PS3, if your going to use a AV cord instead of an HDMI cord, it will be somewhat of bad quality. With all these setbacks, Its still a great tv for the price.

    Would I buy it again?…Yes.

Customer Rating Average 1080p LCD, dead pixels on our first set, 2011-08-05
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
The brown plastic strip across the bottom looks like a sticker and we feel that it actually makes the TV look cheaper than it is. Solid piano black would have a cleaner look. -1 star on “curb appeal”.

The first set we received came with a dead pixel in the center but the second one is good so far. -1 star on having to replace first unit.

Other than that, this is our third HDTV and the details are what you’d expect from 1080p. Side by side with the Samsung equivalent (both tv’s set to default settings) the colors are noticibly less vivid. Even when toying with the settings, it just doesn’t have the same WOW factor. For almost $100 cheaper, ~25% at this price point, worth the minor sacrifice.

All in all, happy with the purchase and would buy LG again as long as they continue to price lower than the competition.

I’m finally coming into the 21st century with a flat panel HDTV. When the big switch came to HDTV, my satellite provider said their signal would be adjusted and I wouldn’t need to upgrade the receiver or my older 27″ Zenith since it was still functioning perfectly. Recently, my Zenith started acting up so I started shopping for a new TV and settled on the LG 32LK450 1080P. All I can say is WOW!!! I’m sorry now that I waited so long to upgrade. I connected it to the receiver I was using with the Zenith but will be having the satellite system upgraded to HD next week. With the awesome quality of the picture already, it is hard to imagine it could get any better. I’m not a techno geek so the audio for me was fine right out of the box. All I had to do is take it out of the carton, attach the stand, and plug it in. When turning it on the first time, there were a couple on-screen settings to put in order then it was ready to enjoy. Amazon had the best price I could find so they got my order. Standard shipping took a reasonable 7 days from their warehouse to my house. I like this unit so much I’m now looking at buying a second one in the 42″ model.

  • Customer Rating 32-inch LG HDTV is high style, 2011-07-14
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
My wife and I purchased this hi-def LG TV for our NJ condo, which we rent out during the summer season — the smallish size fit our smallish living room perfectly and the price (419) was right … it arrived in several days and we set it up for renters due to arrive in a few days. It was a little tricky fitting the table stand pieces together (not as easy e.g., as the Vizio or Olevia TV stands — talking about the “feet” and platform that snap onto the TV chassis to enable it to stand on a table). But my wife figured it out. The set up was an expected breeze, the remote worked perfected, and the HD picture was as good as any I’ve seen. Also, there is an easy aspect-ratio selection feature, so you can watch 4:3 movies in their original framing instead of having the picture drawn out to 16:9, which makes everyone look fat.
The one issue that could be improved here is the sound-system. We do not have an external home theatre set-up in the condo, so we used the TV’s sound; unfortunately, the speakers are located on the bottom side of the screen — i.e., pointed downward toward the TV table. That obscures the sound a bit, makes the volume lower than if the speakers faced out — worse, the TV volume is not very powered, which means the volume cannot be cranked up as loud as one might want. LG obviously adopted this design to improve the appearance of the unit — and it works! The set is beautiful — (no visible built-in speakers to mar the appearance!) In our small unit we wouldn’t want to play the TV overly loud anyway — so as not to bother neighbors. And, in any event, the sound situation would be improved by hooking it up to a home theatre.

    Customer Rating One word…Phenomenal, 2011-07-02
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
This TV is really nice looking and super lightweight. Right out of the box and hooked up to Cable, free local HD looks Phenomenal! SD looks really good too. I’ve seen a lot of HD TV’s and this picture is the best I’ve seen! No tweaking. Just changed the picture mode to “vivid” and it looks unbelievable. Save your money and get 60 mz. There’s no difference. And it doesn’t have the weird effects some 120 hz have. I really like the menu on this too. It’s all in a circle onscreen that rotates…really cool and simple feature. The sound on this is awesome too! Can’t wait to watch a Blu Ray on it.

Customer Rating Great TV set overall, 2011-07-02
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
Pros: Great picture for a 32″ LCD TV (it looked as good as other non-LED sets in the store). The screen is not glossy. Good black color. Ability to turn off display (when playing music, for instance). Relatively good sound (it still needs a sub-woofer, but it is ok, especially if you raise bass/treble). Can be used as a computer monitor (good, but not great picture using a VGA cable; better with a DisplayPort to HDMI cable, but couldn’t make it work at 1080p 60hz). It has headphone 3.5mm audio output and 3 HDMI inputs. USB port for music and video files, although it doesn’t accept lossless audio. TV can be rotated sideways up to 20 degrees on the stand.
Cons: The automatic screen adjustment is not customizable (I wish it was brighter than whatever it selects; but you can turn off the automatic adjustment, so not a problem). No button for on/off captions (you have to go through the not-so “quick menu”, requiring 4 or more commands). My previous Sharp TV had a smaller remote (3/4 size) and was more functional (the TV menu organization was better too). The stand could be better (TV wobbles on the stand when you touch the TV; not a problem if you never touch it or hang the TV on the wall). The stand was also harder to install than I expected (the manual doesn’t explain very well and you need a long screwdriver).
It seems like I got a VA panel (product code CUSDLH), but I don’t dislike it (perhaps the IPS is better, but this VA is not bad even from a 45 degree viewing angle).

    Customer Rating A Great TV… AMAZING PICTURE…GREAT BUY!!, 2011-07-23
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
GREAT TELEVISION!! In my opinion this is a great buy. It works perfect for gaming and television. because of its crystal clear 1080p resolution. it has a 4ms response time, which is phenomenal. it has a 60 Hz refresh rate. It has a 100000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio. This is a very nice LCD TV by LG. and i recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a 32″ LCD TV. I am writing this review from this tv actually. i just put in the vga cord from my computer then switched it over to pc. Amazing quality!!Sound is Quite good. I tested it at max and it was loud enough to quickly turn it back down :).
i made a video review of this Television, the link for the review is in the comments.. i think it will help you with your decision :)…

EDIT: I have now owned this TV for a month..(and one day) and I can still say I have nothing I dislike about this TV. it is sturdy, great sound, and great picture. I use it for TV, computer, and Xbox. I found out you get the best sound by setting the audio to [ CLEAR VOICE II: ON-Level 3 SOUND MODE: Music Treble 82 / Bass 70 ] . Please check out my Video review too.. it was to big to post a video review on amazon :/ the link for the video is in the comments. 🙂

  • Customer Rating Excellent overall TV, 2011-06-01
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
The set up is fairly easy although I found the manual to be lacking in more detail, especially concerning a better explanation of some of the features.

The HD picture is just AWESOME and BEAUTIFUL. I did increase the “Sharpness” from 70 to about 90, but otherwise, left it on ‘AUTO’. I thought the screen might be a little too big for my computer but I was totally wrong….it is just great! I do not have a HDMI connector for the PC, only the RGB, but it is still just outstanding. Hook-up was a matter of just connecting the plugs.

The sound is better than good, but not great. I like it and it does seem to have some legitimate “surround sound” quality.

I was going to give it 4 stars because the non-HD channels are just good, and acceptable; but, the more I look at it, I realize it is actually pretty good. So, it warrants 5 stars.

I have seen a number of HDTVs, especially in showrooms, and this one seems to be better than those. It truly has an amazing picture with HD and I am very pleased with the purchase.

UPDATE 07/09/2011: After tinkering with the set for a month or so, I have been able to improve the sound considerably…..and it was pretty good to start with. A few tips: Under “Menu”, then “Audio:, make sure the Clear Voice II:ON 3 is turned on. I use “MUSIC” mode also, with treble of 82 and Bass of 70. These changes give me a really nice sound.

With the picture, it has improved also although it was astonishing before. I went to “ADVANCED” and you can mess with the categories to fine what suits you. I would make the sure the “Dynamic Color” is on “HIGH”. Enjoy!!!

Customer Rating A pleasant surprise, 2011-05-27
This review is from: LG 32LK450 32-Inch
I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I bought this TV on sale at Best Buy for 100 dollars off. I was in the market for a new TV, actually my first TV purchase.

After a week of use, I am very very pleased with my purchase.

The picture quality is fantastic. Every aspect of the picture can be customized- how warm the picture is, brightness, gamma exposure, etc. Let me say, out of the box the picture was great, this options are more for if you are very particular.

The sound quality is adequate. Not the absolute best, but it is a very solid TV. My dad’s bravia’s sound quality is a lot worse so I am thankful that this setup is good.

As far as features are concerned- it has all of the standards (sleep timer, auto-on/off, etc). It is missing picture-in-picture but this seems almost irrelevant for the size of the TV. I am throughly impressed with the number of inputs and outputs on this TV. 3 HDMI ports, 2 regular RCA (red, white, yellow) inputs, and the PC cord. The PC cord input even has a headphone audio input! This makes using my long cord very easy and converter free.

As a note, I use the TV with my PS3 and PC, and both look and sound fantastic.

I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.
